Descripción:Garcinaxanthone E is a flavonoid that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of HL-60 cells in vivo and in vitro. Garcinaxanthone E also induces apoptotic cell death, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activation of geranyl pyrophosphate synthase, thereby inhibiting the production of prenyl pyrophosphate. This can lead to a decrease in cell growth and an increase in apoptosis. Garcinaxanthone E has also been shown to have chemopreventive effects against liver cancer by inhibiting cell proliferation and enhancing tumor cell death.
