(3aS,4R,9bR)-4-(6-Bromo-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-3a,4,5,9b-tetrahydro-3H-cyclopenta[c]quinoline is a diagnostic agent that binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and albumin. It has been shown to have affinity constants for epidermal growth factor and albumin in the range of 10 -10 M. This drug also shows high affinity binding to ctla-4. This agent is also a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primer and has been shown to inhibit the herbicide resistance gene in plants. The drug has been used as an antigen for cancer research and as a growth factor in cell culture studies.
