Descripción:
Gentisein-3,7-dimethylether is a polymerase chain inhibitor that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial DNA. It can be used as a laxative, and it has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in mice. Gentisein-3,7-dimethylether has also been found to have anticancer properties, but does not inhibit DNA polymerase activity in human cells or bacteria. Gentisein-3,7-dimethylether has been found to be active against members of the genus Staphylococcus and Lactobacillus corniculatus.
