Descripción:1-Palmitoyl-2-cholesterylhemisuccinoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (1PCH) is a water soluble drug that has been developed for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. It is an antigen specific and chemically structured monolayer activated life-threatening diagnostic agent. The 1PCH monolayer is made up of a lipid membrane that has been solubilized in water to allow it to be used as a diagnostic agent. This drug can be used with mycolic acid or oxysterols to produce a high value reading. 1PCH is also an analog for cholesterol, which allows it to bind to the surface of cells and activate them in order to diagnose tuberculosis.
