Descripción:Descarboxy 1-hydroxy ketorolac is a drug that is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. It consists of tromethamine and 1-hydroxy ketorolac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. The mechanism of action is due to the conversion of 1-hydroxy ketorolac into ketorolac trometamol, which inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase. This drug has been shown to have a long term effect in doses ranging from 12.5 mg twice daily for two weeks to 100 mg twice daily for six months. Descarboxy 1-hydroxy ketorolac is soluble in water and can be administered by intramuscular injection or intravenously as an infusion over 15 minutes.
