Hydramethylnon inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the target site on the ribosome and preventing amino acid addition. The compound also has a rapid onset of action, with symptoms appearing after just one day of exposure. The effect can be reversed by removal from the compound’s presence, unlike other insecticides that cause death.
