• Descripción: 8-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde is a carcinogenic compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in human prostate cancer cells. It is also an antifungal agent with a broad spectrum of activity against dermatophytes and aspergillus. 8-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde was found to be more cytotoxic than other quinolones, such as ciprofloxacin, in vitro. This compound has also been shown to be stable in the presence of copper chloride and potassium dichromate when tested with fluorescence probe or x-ray diffraction data analysis.
