Descripción:2-Hydroxyethyloctylsulfoxide is a surfactant with an interdigitated group that is constant and apolar. It has been shown to interact with micelles and particles, and it can be used for sample preparation. 2-Hydroxyethyloctylsulfoxide is soluble in high salt, which makes it suitable for use in the preparation of aqueous solutions. The fluorescence techniques show that the chemical structure of this surfactant consists of a hydrophobic tail and hydrophilic head. This surfactant is also thermodynamically stable.
