N-(2-Hydrazino-2-oxoethyl)benzamide is a histidine prodrug that has been used as an active ingredient in the treatment of urinary tract infections. It is converted to hippuric acid, which is excreted in the urine. N-(2-Hydrazino-2-oxoethyl)benzamide has been shown to be effective against oxadiazole and is a strong inhibitor of phosphatase enzymes. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of prostatitis and other inflammatory conditions. N-(2-Hydrazino-2-oxoethyl)benzamide is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds with pharmaceutical applications.
