It has been shown to coordinate with copper and be sensitive to changes in temperature. 3-Hydrazino-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine has also been shown to have kinetic properties and act as a ligand in metathesis reactions. This compound can undergo mononuclear or hydrogen bonding interactions. 3-Hydrazino-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine is used as a precursor for the synthesis of picric acid by combining with chloroform.
