Hexadecyl D-glucopyranoside is a natural fruit extract derived from the sap of the plant Quillaja saponaria, which is part of the soapberry family. It has been shown to have skin conditioning properties and can be used to treat dry skin. Hexadecyl D-glucopyranoside is also a growth factor that stimulates epidermal cells to produce more protein and lipids, leading to improved skin condition. This compound has been shown to inhibit basophilic leukemia in mice by inducing apoptosis. In addition, it has also been found to have potential anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis and inhibit inorganic acid production.
