• Descripción: 2-[2'-Hydroxy-5'-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenyl]-2H-benzotriazole (HABP) is a reactive, ultraviolet absorber that protects polymers from the harmful effects of UV radiation. HABP is used in acrylic monomers as a photosensitizer, which reacts with oxygen to form an unstable compound that decomposes and generates free radicals. These free radicals cause polymerization reactions and crosslinking, leading to the formation of a stable polymer film. The concentration of HABP can be adjusted by adding more or less to the monomer mixture to achieve desired levels of protection against ultraviolet light.
