Información del producto
- 3-Pyridinecarboxylic acid, 5-hydroxy-, ethyl ester
- 5-Hydroxy-nicotinic acid ethyl ester
- Ethyl 5-hydroxynicotinate
5-Hydroxy-nicotinic acid ethyl ester is an intramolecular proton transfer compound. It has a solubility of 7 mg/mL in water and a melting point of 179 °C. The compound exhibits fluorescence and can be used as a fluorophore, but is not a good substrate for phosphorescence. This compound undergoes intramolecular proton transfer, which makes it useful in the study of intramolecular hydrogen bonding. 5-Hydroxy-nicotinic acid ethyl ester also forms hydrogen bonds with solvents such as chloroform and dichloromethane.
