It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other drugs, such as ester hydrochloride and anhydrous sodium. Hexythiazox has been used to treat infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This antibiotic has also been used in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy and cancerous breast tumours.
