Descripción:3-Hexanol is a linear alcohol with a hydroxyl group at the third carbon and a hydroxy group at the second carbon. 3-Hexanol is used as an additive in food, cosmetics, and other products. It is also used in analytical methods to determine chemical substances. 3-Hexanol has been shown to have a kinetic effect on p-450 isozymes in rat liver microsomes. The adsorption mechanism for 3-hexanol was found to be due to its hydroxyl group and linear structure. 3-Hexanol does not show any deuterium isotope effects on chemical reactions because it contains no deuterium atoms.
