2,6-Bis[2-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-1-pyrrolidinyl-methyl]-4-methylphenol is a chiral molecule that is synthesized by the ring-opening nitroaldol reaction of 2,6-bis(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-4-methylphenol. The product is a ligand for metal ions and has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds. 2,6-Bis[2-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-1-pyrrolidinyl-methyl]-4-methylphenol crystallizes in an orthorhombic crystal system with space group Pna21 and lattice parameters a=9.65 Å and c=11.58 Å.
