Descripción:(Z)-9-Hexadecenal is an organic compound that is used as a pheromone in the species of bark beetles. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of other fungi, including opportunistic fungal pathogens. This activity may be due to its ability to bind and activate specific receptors on the surface of inflammatory cells, leading to an increase in cytokine production and expression of proinflammatory genes. (Z)-9-Hexadecenal also has anti-inflammatory properties against physiological activities such as growth factor binding experiments and solid phase microextraction studies. (Z)-9-Hexadecenal binds to lysine residues, inhibiting hydrogen bonding between amino acid residues and promoting population growth inhibition.
