D,L-Homoglutamine is a non-essential amino acid that is synthesized in the body and has important biological functions. It is involved in collagen synthesis, which is necessary for wound healing. D,L-Homoglutamine may also be involved in protein synthesis and the regulation of gamma-aminobutyric acid levels. The uptake of D,L-homoglutamine by cells has been shown to be mediated by its binding to the oxytocin receptor.
