Descripción:6b-Hydroxy estrone is a reactive metabolite of estrogens. It can be found in urine samples and is detectable by gas chromatography. It can also be detected in human serum and animal tissues. This metabolite has been shown to be carcinogenic in animals, although it's unclear if it has the same effect on humans. 6b-Hydroxy estrone has been shown to cause cancer in the liver and uterus in rats, but not in the breast or cervix. It inhibits the production of progesterone, which may lead to an increased risk of endometrial cancer.
