• Descripción: L-6-Hydroxy norleucine is a dietary supplement that has been shown to be effective in reducing the levels of glutamate in the brain. It is synthesized from leucine, an amino acid. The synthesis of L-6-hydroxy norleucine from leucine is an asymmetric synthesis that occurs in E. coli and P. pastoris. L-6-Hydroxy norleucine is used for the treatment of infectious diseases such as malaria and sepsis, or for use as a pharmaceutical drug to treat conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. This compound can also be used as a reference material for DNA sequencing techniques, such as oxidative dna sequencing (ODS).
