Descripción:17β-Estradiol is a hormone that is synthesized from estradiol benzoate. It is found in the ovaries and testes, as well as in other tissues. 17β-Estradiol has physiological effects such as increasing growth of sex organs, stimulating breast development, and regulating the menstrual cycle. This compound can also be detected in human serum. The 2-hydroxy form of 17β-estradiol can be used to measure the concentration of this hormone through electrochemical detection using a model system.
