Descripción:
Hydroxy-4-methylphthalazine is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to inhibit the production of nitric oxide (NO) and other reactive oxygen species. It also inhibits cholinesterase activity, which leads to increased acetylcholine levels. This agent is metabolized by nucleophilic substitutions and may be synthesized from phthalazinone or aminoguanidine. Hydroxy-4-methylphthalazine binds to the redox potentials of molecular targets and can be used as an inhibitor in biological systems.
