N-Hydroxy-7-(4-dimethylaminobenzoyl)aminoheptanamide is a hydroxamic acid that inhibits the activity of cyclin D2, which is required for cells to progress through the G1 phase of the cell cycle. This drug may also inhibit histone deacetylase and have an effect on epigenetic modulators. N-Hydroxy-7-(4-dimethylaminobenzoyl)aminoheptanamide has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells, and can be used as a combination therapy with suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid or suberoylanilide. This drug may also act as a toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) inhibitor.
