Hordenine hydrochloride is a natural product that has been shown to have beneficial effects on skin cancer, as well as a matrix effect on the skin. Hordenine hydrochloride is a nitrogenous compound with a molecular weight of 188.2 g/mol and is an amine that can be found in human serum and the skin. It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in humans, as well as an effect on dopamine synthesis. Hordenine hydrochloride also has a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity when titrated calorimetrically. It was first isolated from the plant Tinospora cordifolia and then synthesized chemically by hydrogen tartrate oxidation. The analytical methods for hordenine hydrochloride are chemical biology, spectroscopy, chromatography, and gas-liquid chromatography.
