Hypericum perforatum extract is a drug that has been used in the treatment of bowel disease and skin conditions. Hypericum perforatum extract has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and locomotor effects. The extract also has synergistic effects with other drugs such as calcium pantothenate and can be used in combination preparations with other drugs. Hypericum perforatum extract is toxic at high doses and should not be given to pregnant animals or animals that are nursing.
