The transport properties of 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate are due to its concentration dependent interactions with water molecules, which are affected by the temperature and pressure. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm has been used to describe the equilibrium between 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate and KFP.
