• Descripción: 4'-Hydroxysalicylanilide is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in vitro and in vivo. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to salicylic acid, which inhibits the growth of cancer cells by disrupting their cell membranes. Salicylic acid also reduces the rate of liver fibrosis by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase activity and decreasing the production of inflammatory cytokines. The effect of 4'-hydroxydsalicylanilide on bowel disease, chronic viral hepatitis, and hepatitis has not been studied. In some cases, administration of this drug may cause symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
