4'-Hydroxy-n-hexanophenone is a reactive chemical that can be used for Friedel-Crafts acylation. It selectively reacts with carboxylic acids to form esters and anhydrides. 4'-Hydroxy-n-hexanophenone is efficient for the acylation of aliphatic carboxylic acids, regioselective, and selective for aromatic ketones.
