7-Hydroxyflavone is a flavonoid that is found in the skin of citrus fruits. It has inhibitory effects on the activity of bacterial proteases, which may be due to its ability to bind to the hydroxyl group of serine and cysteine residues. 7-Hydroxyflavone also inhibits the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein in vitro. This compound has been shown to have high resistance against protease enzymes, making it a potential therapeutic agent for inhibiting bacterial infection. In addition, 7-hydroxyflavone has been shown to inhibit glucuronide conjugate formation in human serum and k562 cells.
