Descripción:2-Hydroxy-4-aminobutanoic acid is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be a potent antibacterial agent. It is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli. 2-Hydroxy-4-aminobutanoic acid is also an indole alkaloid that can be produced from the amino acid tryptophan by the enzyme pyridoxal phosphate. This prebiotic is found in tissues of many animals and humans. 2-Hydroxy-4-aminobutanoic acid has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in human serum.
