• Descripción: 2-Hydroxy-4-methylacetophenone is a ternary mixture of stereoisomers. The two most abundant stereoisomers are 2-hydroxy-4-methylbenzoic acid and 4-hydroxyacetophenone. This product can be used in the research of new products. It is also used as a flavouring agent, food additive, and preservative. It has been found to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro when tested against gram positive bacteria such as clostridium perfringens. It also acts as an antioxidant by scavenging free radicals that can lead to lipid peroxidation and cell damage.
