• Descripción: 2-hydrazino-4-methylquinoline (2HMMQ) is a synthetic compound that has a trifluoromethyl group. It is an antibiotic with antibacterial activity. 2HMMQ was synthesized in the early 1970s and is a member of the class of quinoline derivatives. The photophysical properties of 2HMMQ were studied by using fluorescence spectroscopy and circular dichroism studies. The functional theory for the dehydrating effect of 2HMMQ on gram-negative bacteria is based on the formation of pyrazoles, which are more reactive than the original molecule.
