3',4',5',6,7,8-Hexamethoxy-5-hydroxyflavone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This compound binds to the transcription-polymerase chain and inhibits the biochemical properties of gardenin in rat liver microsomes. The flavonoid also has surfactant properties and can be used as a detergent in industrial processes. 3',4',5',6,7,8-Hexamethoxy-5-hydroxyflavone binds to the response element binding protein and inhibits the expression of hepg2 cell. This compound also has significant biological activity against tumor xenografts when tested on mice.
