4-Hexyloxybenzonitrile is a n-propyl pyridine derivative that is used in the production of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. This product is an intermediate for the synthesis of adenosine, which is involved in cell metabolism. 4-Hexyloxybenzonitrile also has antiplatelet properties and inhibits platelet aggregation. It does this by alkylating the platelets, which prevents them from sticking together to form clots. The product can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of drugs such as benzamide and cyanamide.
