Descripción:1-(3-Hydroxyphenyl)-2-nitroethene is an organocatalytic chiral catalyst that has been shown to catalyze the asymmetric synthesis of a variety of organic compounds. The synthesis proceeds in two sequential steps: first, the enantioselective addition of nitroethane to a chiral thiourea followed by lactonization with quinine. This is an example of an asymmetric catalytic process.
