Descripción:His-Cys-Lys-Phe-Trp-Trp is a tryptic peptide, which is a fragment of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) p24 protein. This peptide has been shown to inhibit HIV replication in vitro. His-Cys-Lys-Phe-Trp-Trp binds to the transfer RNA and prevents the amino acid transfer reaction from occurring. The binding of His-Cys-Lys-Phe-Trp-Trp to glutathione may be due to its hydrophilicity, which allows it to interact with this molecule. His-Cys-Lys-Phe-Trp also interacts with reactive oxygen species, which are generated as byproducts of glutathione metabolism.
