7-hydroxy aristolochic acid A (7HA) is a natural compound that has been used as a traditional Chinese medicine. It has anti-inflammatory effects in human skin cells by inhibiting the production of collagenase, an enzyme that breaks down collagen. 7HA also inhibits the production of nitrogen oxide and melanin, which are associated with inflammation. 7HA can be used to treat inflammation and reduce scarring.
