N-Hydroxy-4-nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline (FLU-1-N-OH) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is a nonsteroidal drug that binds to and inhibits the function of isoforms of human cytochrome P450, which are involved in metabolizing many drugs and other xenobiotics. This drug may also cause hepatic dysfunction, as it can induce the production of reactive oxygen species by human cytochrome P450 enzymes. N-Hydroxy-4-nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline (FLU-1-N-OH) is metabolized by conjugation with glucuronic acid and excreted in urine or bile. This drug functions by binding to the heme moiety of CYP3A4, preventing its oxidation and subsequent activation.
