Isopropyl isocyanate is a colorless liquid with a sharp, irritating odor. It belongs to the group of chemical compounds called antimicrobial agents, which are used in animal health and in some household products. Isopropyl isocyanate has been shown to have antiangiogenic properties, which inhibit the growth of new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to tumors. This compound also has an antitumor mechanism that inhibits protease activity by binding to the serine protease enzyme's active site. Isopropyl isocyanate also has anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to reduce inflammation due to its ability to inhibit protease activity.
