This molecule is not active against cancer cells, but it has been shown to have anticancer effects in animals. H-Ile-Leu-OH is synthesized by enzymatic hydrolysis of branched-chain amino acids. It has been shown that the uptake rate of this molecule can be increased by using plasma samples from cancer patients as well as animals with cancer.
