Descripción

The compound 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-2-phenylethyl]amine acetate is a cyclised tryptamine that has been found in the bark of an African tree. It was first isolated in the year 2000 and has been shown to have a variety of biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. The compound is also used as an intermediate for the synthesis of analogues and catalysts. The structure of this molecule can be broken down into its component parts: a hydrogen atom, carbon atom, oxygen atom, nitrogen atom, and two alkaloid rings. There are also aliphatic chains attached to the molecule that make it hydrophobic.
