Descripción

(2-Isopropoxyphenyl)amine sulfate is an experimental synthetic radioprotective agent. It provides protection to the bone marrow, spleen, and other reticuloendothelial tissues against radiation damage. The compound has been shown to have a primary amine skeleton. This amine skeleton undergoes aldol condensation with acetaldehyde in order to form the desired product. (2-Isopropoxyphenyl)amine sulfate is also able to bind and cross cell membranes, as well as form nitrosoamines during irradiation.
