4-(Isopropylsulfonyl)phenylboronic acid is a synthetic, small molecule that can damage DNA. It binds to the active site of protein kinases and prevents them from phosphorylating their substrates. This drug has been shown to be effective in clinical studies for the treatment of cancer, as it induces apoptosis in tumor cells. 4-(Isopropylsulfonyl)phenylboronic acid also inhibits the repair mechanism of DNA damage through its ability to inhibit protein tyrosine kinases. This drug may be used in combination with other drugs that are ineffective at inducing apoptosis or inhibiting the repair mechanism.
