4-Iodobenzylamine is a chemical compound that has been shown to have therapeutic properties for various diseases, such as cancer, inflammatory diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. 4-Iodobenzylamine binds to the receptor of dopamine and inhibits the production of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are enzymes that play a role in tumor growth. The drug also prevents the cleavage of serine protease by inhibiting the activation of protein S6 kinase. This inhibition leads to a decrease in lipid synthesis. 4-Iodobenzylamine has been shown to be effective against deficient mice with an impaired fatty acid metabolism.
A study has shown that this drug is not well absorbed through oral administration and needs to be administered intravenously or intraperitoneally to achieve its full potential.
