4-[(E)-2-(1H-Indazol-3-yl)ethenyl]phenyl]-piperazin-1-ylmethanone is a potent inhibitor of the metabolic pathway, which can be used to study endogenous metabolites. The compound was shown in an inhibition study to inhibit the activity of piperazine and tissue metabolizing enzymes such as aldehyde oxidase, coagulation factors, and multikinase. 4-[(E)-2-(1H-Indazol-3-yl)ethenyl]phenyl]-piperazin-1-ylmethanone inhibits these enzymes by forming a covalent bond with the enzyme's active site. This covalent bond prevents the enzyme from performing its function. The compound has shown activity against various bacterial strains, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
