Descripción:2-Indol-3-yl-4-oxo-4-phenylbutanoic acid is a plant derived compound that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of pea plants. It inhibits pea nodule formation by binding to the regulatory protein 2-aminoisobutyric acid (ABA) receptor, which is necessary for transport of ABA into the cell. In addition, 2I3O4PBA has been shown to inhibit transcriptional regulation of genes involved in plant growth and development. The mechanism of action for this compound is not fully understood, but it may involve chemical biology or genetic analyses.
