Indacaterol is a pharmacological agent that is used to treat asthma. This drug works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the airways, which leads to bronchodilation and improved airflow. It has been shown to be safe and effective for use in patients with asthma who have not responded well to previous treatments. Indacaterol is known as an agonist of beta-adrenergic receptors, which are found on the surface of airway smooth muscle cells.
