4-Iodo-2-formylpyrrole is a ligand that binds to the D4 receptor. It has an affinity for the receptor binding site, with a Ki of 0.8 nM and a Kd of 1.5 μM. The ligand is centrosymmetric and has a hydrophobic profile, which may be due to its pyrrole ring structure. 4-Iodo-2-formylpyrrole has been shown to have pharmacological effects in rats, such as an increase in dopamine levels in the brain and locomotor activity. This ligand may also be used as a traceless probe for polymerase sequences or functional groups.
