- Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carboxylic acid
- Imidazo[1,2-A]Pyridine-2-Carboxylate
Imidazo[1,2-A]Pyridine-2-Carboxylic Acid is an amide that has been isolated from the marine sponge Spongia officinalis. It has shown inhibitory effects against Cox-1 and Cox-2 enzymes and is a traceless inhibitor of platelet aggregation. Imidazo[1,2-A]Pyridine-2-Carboxylic Acid inhibits COX enzymes by reacting with the heme moiety of the enzyme in a chemical reaction to form a covalent adduct. This compound also inhibits candida glabrata, gastroduodenal ulcers, and gastric lesions. Imidazo[1,2-A]Pyridine-2-Carboxylic Acid has been found to be an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in vitro at concentrations greater than 1 mM. It binds to the active site of ACh
