Descripción:Isobutyl Acetoacetate is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CH3COCH2COOC4H9. It is a colorless liquid that has a fruity odor. Isobutyl Acetoacetate is used in the production of acrylates and other esters, as well as in the synthesis of fatty acids. The tuberculostatic activity of Isobutyl Acetoacetate has been shown to be due to its ability to react with the active methylene group on the guanine nucleotide at position 8, where it forms an enolate anion.
